135 News to Know

Bullying and Common Core: May 21 and May 23

All District 135 parents are invited to attend two upcoming programs: Understanding Bullying on Monday, May 21 and Understanding Common Core State Standards on Wednesday, May 23. Both one-hour events begin at 6:30 p.m. and take place in The Learning Center, located within the Administration Center (15100 S. 94th Avenue in Orland Park). There is no need to RSVP and no cost to attend either program.

50 District Students Write for the Website

Over 50 Distirct 135 students in Grades 5-8 from five different buldings have regularly contributed writing for this website throughout the 2011-12 school year. Their articles, called "Creature Features" have included reviews of books, music and movies; advice for classmates; fashion tips; interviews of staff members; reviews of toys and technology tools; and many creative pieces. Check out their great work by clicking on this article's title or "Just for Students" at left!

Register Now for Summer Sports Camps!

Registration is now being accepted for the District 135 2012 Summer Sports Camps. The brochure can be downloaded by clicking on this article's title. Volleyball, softball, basketball and cross country camps are being offered and are coached by District 135 staff. Forms are due with payment by May 18, 2012.
