Students in grades 1-3 come to art once a week for one hour. Students do need to have an art shirt for days we paint. It will be kept in the art room. It can be an old t shirt or something similar. Please write student's name on the art shirt.
We focus on creativity through many different avenues and use many different materials. Sometimes our lessons will focus on the seasons or the holidays. Other times we learn using the elements of design. Throughout the year students learn about famous artists from many different countries.
Students have many opportunities to display their talent.
Celebrity for the Month
Each month different art students are chosen because of the art work they have created. The art work is displayed outside the art room for a specific month.
Student Displays
Some Centennial art students also have art work on display at District Office and the Village Hall during first semester. During the month of March we hold a District wide art show at the Orland Park Public Library.
Students that have art work on display are notified.
All are invited.
