What do we offer?
Extended Day Kindergarten (Small Group Intervention)
Extended Day Kindergarten is an early intervention program for children with literacy difficulties. These children meet daily for one hour beginning mid-October through the end of April. Instruction includes phonemic awareness, letter sound identification, writing activities, and guided reading.
Reading Recovery (One-on-One Intervention)
Reading Recovery is an early intervention program designed for children with literacy difficulties in first grade. It includes reading, writing, and letter/word work for 30 minutes daily. The students meet one-on-one with a trained Reading Recovery teacher for approximately 12-20 weeks.
PIP Groups (Small Group Intervention)
A PIP Group receives small group literacy instruction and is designed for first, second and third graders. These groups meet 3-5 days each week for 30-45 minutes. Instruction includes reading, writing, and letter/word work.
