Read for 20 minutes every night with your child, and ask these questions:
I. Predict
- What will happen next?
II. Visualize
- What do I picture in my mind that's happening in the story?
III. Ask Questions
- Who?
- What?
- When?
- Where?
- Why?
IV. Summarize
- In my own words, what is this story about?
V. Clarify
- ...how to say a word - I look for chunks.
-...what a word means - I look at the words around it.
- ...an idea - I reread the sentence.

- Identify geometric shapes
- Count edges, vertices, faces
II. Money
- Practice counting pennies, nickels, dimes & quarters
- Practice counting coin collections
- Practice making change
- Adding money
III. Time
- Practice telling time to the hour, half hour, & quarter hour
- Practice telling time to the minute
- Practice elapsed time
