I am excited to work with the families from High Point, who come with high praise from the staff who have worked directly with the community over the years.
Next year, I will be entering my 27th year working in Orland Park School District 135. When I landed here back in 1985, I could not have asked to work for a better school district. The partnership between staff, students, parents and community has helped to make this district one of the best around. My resume includes teaching at Park and Centennial School, assistant principal for Centennial, Jerling, Orland Junior High and Liberty Schools. For the last four years, I have been the principal at Liberty School. As I begin to think about my move to High Point, I hope to continue working towards excellence with the students, staff and families of this great school. High Point has the reputation of helping students achieve academic success. In addition, the dedicated educators work hard to help students grow in many other ways including socially and emotionally so that students can concentrate on doing their best learning and be prepared for junior high.
The High Point Community will be swimming with success for 2011-2012. Every student at High Point School will been actively involved in the learning process. Teachers will develop creative lessons to keep students engaged using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modes for learning. The staff at High Point understands clearly that students need a variety of experiences to develop an understanding of important concepts.
The theme for this school year is, "High Point School is a Sea of Success." Please check my page soon for an update with a detailed explanation about this year's school improvement goals.
As always, I thank the High Point community for their continued support. I am anticipating a successful school year.
Successfully for children,
Mrs. Cheryl Foertsch
Principal
