Students in Grades 3 and 4 come to art once a week for one hour. Students do need to have an art shirt for days we paint. It can be an old t shirt or something similar. Please write student's name on the art shirt. Students can bring their own watercolor paints to use in the art room. They will be stored in the art room as well.
We focus on creativity through many different avenues and use many different materials. Sometimes our lessons will focus on the seasons or the holidays. Other times we learn using the elements of design. Throughout the year students learn about famous artists from many different countries, and create related art work.
Students have many opportunities to display their talent.
Student Displays
Sometime during the school year High Point art students could possibly have art work on display at Orland Park Public Library, District Office, or even The Village Hall. If art work is on display outside of High Point
School, students will be notified.
During the month of March we hold our District wide art show at the Orland Park Public Library.
Students that have art work on display are also notified.
All are invited attend.
