4th Quarter News
This week we will begin our final unit, softball. We will also continue to do some of the fitness tests we were not able to complete during the last unit. All students will receive their fitness scores with their final report card. I will be handing out the final extra credit assignment on Tuesday, May 8th. It will be due on Wednesday, May 9th. Toward the end of the unit, a review sheet will come home and a final written test on softball will be given.
All students are required to return the lock we issued them in the beginning of the year. Lock collection will take place the Thursday and/or Friday before Memorial Day. If your child lost our lock, they must pay a $5.00 replacement fee before the end of the year.
Our Annual P.F.E. Hoop-a-Thon will take place on Friday, May 18th. Information went home last week. We are looking for a minimum donation of $2.00. Permission slips and donations are due on Tuesday, May 15th. If you need an additional copy of the permission slip, please contact the main office.

About the teacher:
I graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1991. My Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from U.of I. was completed in 1995. I was a teacher and a coach at Jerling from 1991-1999 (Some of you might remember me as Miss Farkas.) During the years 1999-2007, I stayed home and started a family. As luck would have it, my replacement retired and I was re-hired at Jerling for the 2007-08 school year. I am thrilled to be back as a coach this year for the boys' 8th grade volleyball team. Look for a new club called, The Health Club, which will start at the beginning of the new year.
