WELCOME TO MR. LYONS' WEBPAGE
Dear Parents,
Welcome! My name is Sean Lyons and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be your child's 5th grade teacher. I expect this year to be both exciting and challenging for your child.
I feel it is important to provide activities which are interesting and motivating, I will strive to promote high levels of independence, cooperation, responsibility, and self-esteem, all of which contribute to the foundation of a healthy child. In my classroom, I use a variety of whole class, small group, and independent learning activities in order to foster the development of these characteristics.
I strongly believe that communication between home and school is very important. We share many of the same goals where your child is concerned. His/her growth and development is a cooperative effort. I, therefore, welcome any questions you may have during the course of the year. I look forward to working with both you and your child so that he/she will have a productive and successful year.

I recognize that each child has a unique personality. No child is perfect—no adult is perfect. We all have strengths and weaknesses, but we all have something to contribute and share with others. It is my goal to create an environment of caring and respect where each child can find the confidence to explore and develop his/her potential and feel comfortable with him/herself as an individual.
My expectations are very high for your child. If we work together the possibilities are endless!
