A Parent's Guide to Nutrition
Hello. Welcome to my P.E. Homepage. My name is Jennifer Blue. I am looking forward to working with students, parents, and staff to provide fitness and fun in the gymnasium! There are so many benefits to exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. I encourage you to work together as a family outside of school to exercise every day and make healthy food choices!
Thoughout the school year we participate in many activities including soccer, football, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, fitness testing, running bases, capture the flag, jump rope, pin knock-down, pillo pollo, scooter hockey, and many more.... I enjoy teaching activities that students can take with them outside the classroom to continue exercising and having fun for years and years to come!
We participate in Fitness Tesing in the spring and fall; however, all activites build strength and endurance that can improve fitness scores. Our fitness tests include The Mile Run, The Pacer Test, Curl-Ups, Sit-ups, The Flexed-arm Hang, Pull-ups, The Shoulder Stretch, and the Sit and Reach. Each year we perform at least one test falling in the categories of muscular endurance, muscular strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, and flexibility. P.E. Report cards are sent home with fitness scores and averages.
You may contact me with questions/concerns at jblue@orland135.org or 708-364-3841.
This school year I will be teaching Physical Education at Liberty School and Prairie School.

Stress is a part of life. Stress management is a great tool to develop. Some healthy ways to manage stress include exercising, talking to someone, meditating, and deep breathing.
