3rd grade music
I look forward to meeting new students!
This year in music the students will continue to learn about rhythm, pitch, beat and form. 3rd graders will experience music through a variety of hands-on activities such as singing, moving and playing instruments such as the recorder. Students will also learn music notation and the instruments of the orchestra!

4th grade music
I look forward to meeting new students and welcoming back the students I knew from third grade!
Students will continue to study the elements of music learned from previous years. 4th graders will continue to experience music through a variety of hands-on activities including hand-drumming and a continuation of the recorder. Students will learn about band instruments, some of the famous composers and will begin to compose music of their own !
5th grade music
I look forward to meeting new students and welcoming back the students I knew from fourth grade!
Students will continue to study the elements of music learned from previous years. 5th graders will continue to experience music through a variety of hands-on activities including playing the guitar! Students will continue to learn about composers and also learn about opera, musical theatre and "the blues". Students will continue learning how to read and write music and will compose and improvise their own music!
Choir
Choir is an extra-curricular music activity that is open to all students in 4th and 5th grade. Students in choir will sing a variety of music together, build vocal skills & musicianship, have a positive experience in teamwork & prepare for concert performances . Each grade-level choir ensemble meets after school two days a week (see schedule below).
