Who is Ms. Jensen?
Education: I earned my Bachelor of Arts in German with a Minor in Spanish from Western Washington University in 1995. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching and Leadership from St. Xavier University in 2004. I am certified in both German and Spanish in Illinois (grades 6-12) and in Washington (grades K-12).
Experience: 2011-2012 is my 17th year of teaching. I have 13 years experience teaching high school German and Spanish in Chicago. This is my 4th year teaching in District 135. In 1994 I did a foreign study in Vienna, Austria followed by my student teaching at Naperville North High School. I worked for 10 years on the Chicago-Hamburg Sister City Exchange Program and I taught for one year at a Saturday German school, the Schule der Donauschwaben, in Des Plaines, IL.
Interests: Learning languages is a passion of mine. I really enjoy spending most of my free time with my husband and 5 year old daughter. I love to travel, especially to my home state of Washington. Summer 2011 my daughter and I had a wonderful 3 week visit to Washington to visit family. My daughter continues another year of pre-school this year and my husband is now in the final year of his program of study for Nuclear Medicine Technology, graduating in May 2012.
