Welcome to Park School

Our mission is to promote the education of  Proud, Achieving, Responsible Kids who are rooted in the basics of reading, writing and math.  Our two school improvement goals this year focus on reading and writing specifically, although we are always addressing the 3 R's. 

We use questioning techniques and word study programs which foster children's comprehension.  These programs were promoted through our balanced literacy training and professional development workshops.  In the area of writing, our staff worked diligently on creating writing rubrics, and developed new writing centers this past summer for every classroom.  In addition, students share writing pieces with a fellow class once a quarter so that their voices are being heard!

We ask students to read every night for 20 minutes and they log their time on their reading calendar and then turn the calendar in at the end of the month.  At the end of the school year we will have a reading celebration which is hosted by our PFE.
