WEATHER RELATED ISSUES

Throughout the school year, weather related issues may affect the student’s ability to be outside before school or during recess. Therefore, we will be using the following guidelines to determine whether the students are indoors or outdoors.

• If it is raining
• If the temperature and/or wind chill factor feels like twenty degrees or below
• If there is an excessive heat index

For temperature related issues, we use the www.weather.com website. In some cases, the students may be allowed outside during recess but may be limited to their points of access on the playground, particularly where there is excessive mud or ice.

Recess takes place after lunchtime and and another scheduled break. Please send your child with the appropriate outerwear for days that may either be inclement or cold. We do not want to see anyone outside who is ill-prepared.
