Below is guidance that has been provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health as it relates to symptoms that may occur after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
If within 3 days of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine (Dose 1 or Dose 2), you experience any of the following symptoms and feel well enough to work you can self-certify:
- chills
- headache
- body aches
- fatigue
- NO fever
If you have a fever - DO NOT REPORT TO WORK.
If within 3 days of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine (Dose 1 or Dose 2), you have any of the above symptoms and they last for more than 2 days OR if you experience any of the following symptoms, DO NOT REPORT TO WORK:
- Fever of 100.4 or greater
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Runny nose
- Loss of taste/smell
If you are unable to report to work you should consult your primary care physician and you will need a PCR COVID-19 test before you can return to work.
