Strategic Plan

The District embarked on a strategic planning process during the Spring of 2024 with RJM Consulting Services Inc..

As D135 began the strategic long-range planning process for the five-year plan, Orland School District 135 asked staff, parents, and members of the community to share their feedback through a survey. The survey assisted the district in making decisions about the strategic plan.

The strategic long-range plan is how the district supports schools to ensure each student’s academic success. The focus areas of study set forth by the school board and administration formed the fundamental principles of the strategic long-range plan.

We emphasized building on the many past accomplishments to continue our quest to maintain and enhance a culture of continuous improvement.

A key element to gathering feedback was the formation of a Strategic Long Range Planning Committee. The committee, comprised of approximately 50-75 people, was a diverse group that included parents, board members, administration, staff, and community members. In addition to community input, the committee members offered additional feedback as they developed the recommended five-year plan.

In May, the district engaged in a strategic long-range planning process to yield the five-year plan for the future.

The 6 areas below represent the focus areas of study for planning:

  • Finance
  • Facilities
  • Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
  • Human Resources
  • Community and Public Relations
  • Student and Family Experiences
