8th Grade Device Purchase Option

8th Grade Devices-Transfer-in Students

At the end of this school year the 8th grade graduating students WITH NO OUTSTANDING FEES that have NOT attended school in the district for at least 3 years will have an opportunity to purchase their iPad for $50. You must agree to the terms listed below and complete all steps listed below completely including submitting payment by May 1, 2026This is a strict deadline and will NOT be extended.

 PLEASE NOTE:  The process requires the student ID/username.  This username/ID  has 6 letters and 4 numbers (begins with the first 4 letters of last name followed by first 2 letters of first and then birthdate.) and should be on the back of the iPad.

Students that attended Orland School District 135 for 1 or 2 years can purchase their device for $50 using this link.

What you are getting:

Student iPad, iPad case, charging block, USB charging cord. Students/parents will only be permitted to purchase their device. Students/parents will NOT have the opportunity to purchase additional devices.

Terms of Sale:

 By purchasing the device you agree to the following terms:

  • Payment must be received by May 1, 2026 using the link above.
  • Student cannot have any outstanding fees owed to the district.
  • After the delivery of the device, it becomes the property of the individual and no longer will have access to the school network or Wifi. Students will receive delivery of the device at or just after 8th Grade Device collection day.
  • The devices are "as-is," and the school district will not make any hardware or software repairs that aren't reported in the 8th Grade Device Repair Request Form prior to the May 1st deadline.
  • The district "Damage Loss Plan" is only for district owned devices and does NOT carry over to devices sold under this agreement.
  • All accessories issued to the student (case, charging block and cord) are included in the purchase of the device.
  • All district licensed software will be removed from the device.  Students will receive the iPad reset to original factory default settings.
  • All district management software will be removed.  It is the parents' responsibility to monitor device including but not limited to internet filtering and application use.
  • Student is eligible for a device with the age and model matching that of the 8th grade graduating class. In the event a student was issued a newer device, the district reserves the right to substitute the student's issued device with a device consistent with the graduating class' model and/or age.
  • This device is not meant to replace any devices issued by District 230.  Students of District 230 must use District 230 issued devices as their primary school device.
  • All sales are final. Returns or exchanges will not be permitted.

Required Steps

 

The following must be completed by May 1st.

  1. Parents or guardians must complete the purchase of the device on the district WebStore using the appropriate link above.  It will require the student’s email, parent email, payment and iPad Serial number. (The serial number can found on a sticker on the back of the device.  It begins with DMP...)  You will also need the student username and last name in order to complete purchase. (These will need to be entered correctly and have to match what is in Skyward to complete order.) Payments can be made with all major credit cards or eCheck on this site.  Cash and payments at the school buildings will not be accepted.
  2. If a device requires any repairs, the 8th Grade Device Repair Request Form must be completed using the student’s school email.  Repairable damages would include  cracked screens, no audio etc.  Certain repairs may be assessed a fee as outlined in the student device handbook.  The district does NOT repair cosmetic damages such as nicks, scratches or dents that do not affect the functionality of the device.

Completing the Online Webstore Purchase

(Payments will not be accepted at school buildings.)

1. Parent should go to the appropriate link above and create or log into parent account (This is the same account your used to pay school fees or add money to lunch accounts). 

 

 

2. Log in or create a Parent RevTrak Account.

3. Complete the required information including the student username (LLLLFFMMDD), last name and serial number. Copy and paste serial number found in Settings, General, About)  on your student iPad. (You will not be able to complete the purchase if the LAST NAME and STUDENT ID aren't correctly entered in the "Student Information" box).

4.  Make sure to click the blue "ADD STUDENT" bar.  This will create the Add to Cart link. Click "Add to Cart."

5. Choose payment type, E-Check or Credit Card.
