Internet Xfinity Program

Illinois Association of School Boards Internet Essentials Program

The Illinois Association of School Boards and Comcast have joined together in an effort to provide cost-effective internet service for all families. Internet Essentials is a program that provides eligible families with Internet services in their homes for $9.95 a month and can provide access to free digital literacy training.

To be eligible, a household must:
- reside in an area in which Comcast offers Internet service;
- have at least one child who is eligible to receive a free or reduced-price school lunch via the National School Lunch Program;
- not have subscribed to Comcast Internet Service within the last 90 days;
- not have an overdue Comcast bill or unreturned equipment.

Families can remain in the program until their child completes high school, as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.
