District Goals

In the spring of 2024, the Board of Education met with representative members of the learning community including students, parents, staff, and administration to review and update the District's vision, mission, and shared beliefs as well as create a strategic plan for the next five years. 

Orland School District 135's strategic plan focuses on continuous improvement and excellence for all students. Key goals for the coming years include:

  • Academic Achievement: Challenging students with rigor and supporting individual growth.
  • Social-Emotional Learning: Fostering mutual respect and safety among staff.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Ensuring responsible financial management.
  • Staff Engagement: Focusing recruitment on diverse educational backgrounds.
  • Open Communication: Informing stakeholders through various methods like the "IGNITE135" newsletter and social media.

The district also aims to update and modernize facilities, implement standardized safety procedures, and provide equitable opportunities for student and family engagement. The Board of Education receives regular updates on the progress of these goals.
