    Red Ribbon Week - Oct. 25-29 

    In celebration of Red Ribbon Week, Student Council would like to invite everyone to participate in Spirit Week next week here at Jerling. This year's theme is “Drug Free Looks Like Me”  Our first spirit day is “I have too much pride to do drugs!” We will celebrate by wearing our American Pride Attire. On Monday wear your red, white and blue to show your pride and stand up against drugs!.

    Sports Intramurals will be held today and tomorrow after school until 5:00pm.  Please meet Mrs. Melka and Mrs. Marinier in the main hallway outside of the small gym. Have your ride home here at 5:00pm. 

    Congratulations to the boys 6/7th grade volleyball team for defeating Conrady yesterday in 3 games. After losing the first game the boys battled back hard and won the match. Great serving and setting by Sean who served 10 in a row in the second game! Great passing by Conal, Johnny and Jack. Fantastic hitting and blocking by Briggs, Lucas and David solidified the first win of the season.  Keep it up boys - Go Jayhawks!

    "Whoomp there it is!". The tag team is back again.  Both Lady Jayhawk basketball teams were victorious in their SWIC season openers.  The 6/7th grade team defeated Conrady by a score of 32-12. The 8th grade girls held the Jaguars scoreless in the first half and went on to defeat them 36-15. Congratulations on a great start girls! Come support the teams on Tuesday as the Jayhawks take on the LIberty Jr. High Patriots in their home opener. 

    From NJHS:  The Jerling NJHS will be holding a clothing drive next week starting on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and running through Thursday, October 28.  All donated clothing will be donated to a local Goodwill store.  Acceptable clothing is new or lightly used; please only bring school appropriate clothes without rips or tears.  We are collecting winter clothign to provide affordable options for those less fortunate.  Think sweater, hats, gloves, scarves, boots, and heavy socks. The clothes you bring will go to your homeroom class. The homeroom that gathers the most clothing items will win a class prize. Details about the prize will be revealed next week.  Good luck and thank you for any and all future donations!  


    Zero hour starts at 7:41am. Students must be dropped off in the parent drop off/pick up lane in the back of school no earlier than 7:30am. 1st Period starts at 8:32am. Students must be dropped off in the parent drop off/pick up lane in the back of school no earlier than 8:20AM. Dismissal is at 3:15pm.   

    REMINDER TO STUDENTS:  Cell phones are turned off during the school day.  If you feel sick, you need to see the nurse.  DO NOT TEXT YOUR PARENTS.  Also, no texting during passing periods or lunch.  If you need to make a phone call, go to the office to call.

    Homework lab:  

    Homework lab will begin Monday Sept 13th

    AM Homework lab is from 7:41-8:23am Monday through Friday.

    PM Homework Lab is 3:15-4pm Mondays, 3:15-5:00pm Tuesday through Thursday.

    Writing lab will be on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00pm
