Liberty student-led book drive a success

Students at Libert School have been working on a variety of Genius Hour projects.  Genius Hour projects allow students to choose something they are passionate about and spend some school time working on that passion.

Two 5th grade students in Kris Conway's class love to read and wanted to share the joy of reading.  The two students started a book drive with the goal of collecting books to be donated to the Toy Box Connection in Orland Park.  Liberty School collected 1,842 books in just two weeks!

The classroom that collected the most books from each grade level received a popcorn party, which was incentive enough for one class to bring in almost 300 books!

We are very proud of these 5th graders, as well as the entire Liberty community for their generosity.
