OJH adopts sister school, provides hurricane relief
Orland Junior High School students adopted a ‘sister’ school in Texas to help them recover from Hurricane Harvey. OJH raised over $1,500 to help students and staff at Oak Forest Elementary in Vidor, Texas decorate their temporary trailer classrooms while their school, which was destroyed in the hurricane, was restored. With the help of these generous Eagles, the students were able to enjoy their first week in the temporary classrooms. The principal of Oak Forest Elementary, Carolyn Wedgeworth said, “We feel we can now get down to the job of educating our children in an environment conducive to learning. We still have obstacles to overcome with teachers and students displaced and living in less than ideal conditions, but at least at school, we can forget those worries for a short time each day. ”
Thanks to everyone who helped us help our sister school! Kindness and generosity can go a long way.
