Park School's Mock Election

On Monday, November 7th, Park School students participated in a mock election of a different kind.  Classes read the Mo Willems book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and then voted on whether or not they thought the pigeon should get to drive!

Students came throughout the day to visit the polling location, and had to show their voter registration card before casting their vote. Parent volunteers helped the students fill out their ballots, and all votes were counted at the end of the day.  They received an “I Voted” certificate after completing the process.

The final vote was recorded as 176 ‘yes’ and 173 ‘no’ votes.
