Orland Junior High lends helping hand to food pantry
Every year, the Orland Junior High Student Council members, under the direction of their sponsors Cheryl Knight and Andrea Arriaga, run the food drive, The Orland Junior High community collected approximately 6,000 food items and about $3,000 in donations.
A goal for the students is set each year, and this year OJH accomplished their goal and hosted a fun assembly to go along with the collection. To go along with the "fall theme", OJH also hosted a Turkey Trot as their culminating event for the food collection, in which students can either run or walk. The top male and female from each of the three grade levels were recognized after the run.
Orland School District 135 is extremely proud of these Eagles for giving back to their community in such a meaningful way!
